The Vitreous Humour occupies approximately 80% of each eye and is a perfectly transparent substance which, fills the chamber behind the lens.

  • Lens

The Lens is located behind the pupil of the eye and is enclosed in a thin transparent capsule. The lens is able to refract light travelling through the eye and focuses the light into an image.

  • Cornea

The Cornea is the front part of your eye which covers the Pupil and the Iris. It is the Cornea that contributes to most of the eyes focusing.

  • Pupil

The Pupil is the circular opening which is located in the centre of the Iris. It is the Pupil that controls the amount of light that enters the eye and looks black as most of the light is absorbed by tissues that are inside eye.

  • Iris

The Iris is a membrane that is responsible for controlling the amount of light that reaches the retina.

  • Sclera

The Sclera is mainly known as the white of the eye and is the tough opaque tissue that serves as the outer coat that protects the eye.

  • Optic Nerve

The Optic Nerve connects to the back of the eye near the Macula. It is the Optic Nerve that transmits electrical impulses from the retina to the brain.

  • Retina

The Retina is a light sensitive tissue that lines the inner surface of the eye.

  • Aqueous Humour

The Aqueous Humour is a thin watery fluid that fills the space between the Cornea and the Iris.
